Gluten Free Products

Here I will share with you some of my preferred ‘Gluten Free’ brands or latest GF product finds.

Lets face it, GF bread is never going to taste as good as a crispy loaf of sourdough made by an artesian baker.  A bowl of gluten free pasta in no way compares to freshly made ravioli or gnocchi.  And don’t get me started about the loss of woodfire pizza in my life!

I want to eat GF food that tastes good and doesn’t make me feel I’m missing out.  No more GF bread that tastes like cardboard for me thanks, or biscuits that are so hard they are like chomping into a brick.

With the greater prevalence of gluten intolerance in our society, the higher demand for GF products has seen the big supermarket chains now stocking a wider range of products than ever before.  Its getting to the point that we no longer need to shop in the speciality or health food shops.  The supermarket offers greater convenience and price competitiveness.

This is a good thing as the price for gluten free products tend to be hideously expensive vs the normal product. [I’ve found that Coles tends to have a great range than Woolworths.  IGA is pretty good too, considering the shops are smaller, although IGA stock does differ a lot from suburb to suburb].

Its sooooooooo exciting when I find a product that allows me to experience as closely as possible those things that have been taboo for so long.  And when I do, OH THE JOY !   I can’t wait to share it with others.

For those of you out there that are also on the GF eating plan, please let me know of any ‘finds’ you come across in your own GF journey!
