Welcome to Soul Kitchen Blog. Feed the body and nourish the soul.
Sure, food ultimately is fuel for the body but when made with love, it is so much more and truly nourishes the soul. As cliche as it sounds, life really is too short to eat bad food (or drink bad coffee). I have a passion for cooking and I am committed to a quest of searching for fabulous recipes that just so happen to be gluten free.
In recent years when I discovered I have an intolerance to gluten, it radically changed my eating habits, as I realised so much of what I ate was wheat based. As one of the most undiagnosed conditions in the world today, my intolerance went unrecognised for years. But I refuse to allow this condition to limit my choices to eat well or make those that I cook for feel that they are missing out on anything! Eating out can be a challenge (often), but a few modifications to recipes when made at home, mean that more and more I can replicate the food I used to love to eat when dining out, in the privacy of my own kitchen.
Every recipe posted in my blog will be gluten free or able to be modified to be gluten free.
Being Australian and living in a multicultural society, my breadth of eating habits spans many nationalities. I live in Sydney with my Aussie-born Greek partner. Having travelled extensively around the world, my recipes are inspired by the food I have relished in my global wanderings or that I discover in my own city.
My mandate is simple… to feed the body and nourish the soul.
I look forward to sharing my journey with you ……..
